The Wix Corporation was founded in 1939 by John D. Wicks and Paul G. Crenshaw in Gastonia, North Carolina. Its industry is automotive filters and its headquarters has remained in Gastonia, North Carolina. In 1979, Wix merged with the Dana Corporation. It was acquired by the Affinia Group in 2004.
